Open data
The camera database is a derivative of OpenStreetMap data merged with moderated community reports, published under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0 — the same license that keeps it free forever. Attribution: “© OpenStreetMap contributors; Stop Flock Cams Now community.” Snapshot 2026-08-24: 135,657 camera records.
What’s included
- Every documented camera: coordinates, manufacturer, operator, direction, mount, status, confidence tier
- County FIPS + state assignment for every record where determinable
- Provenance dates: first documented, last field-confirmed, snapshot date
Rules of the road
- Keep the attribution and the ODbL license notice with any redistribution.
- If you improve the database and publish it, share improvements under ODbL too.
- Please don’t present documented counts as complete counts — see methodology.

Attribution stays visible per our ODbL obligations. Journalists: press kit on the open data page.
Agency-level records shown on state/county pages come from the EFF Atlas of Surveillance (CC BY 4.0) and are not part of the ODbL dump. A public REST API is on the roadmap.
